Wines to Enjoy
Thomas Dorfmann wines are characterised on the one hand by skeleton-rich, air and water-permeable diorite weathered soils, and on the other by the warm, sunny location sheltered from the cold north winds with its special microclimate.
Perfect vine husbandry, rigorous selection of the grapes and timely harvesting as late as possible are in fact the key to success.
In the cellar the wines are then given all the time they need in order to develop. The white wines spend almost a year in barrels on the fine lees, the Pinot Noir even longer. They are then allowed to mature and develop further in the bottle.
All this becomes evident in the glass. Wines typical of their variety, clear-cut and linear, accompanied by refined, intense fruit, rounded, full-flavoured and minerally. Yet also suitable for very long aging – typical of the Isarco Valley.
